Like Halley's Comet, about once every 76 years does legendary painter Bob Larkin finish his circuit of the universe and return to earth--in Larkin's case, to make a rare convention appearance at this year's New York Comic-Con, to be held April 18-20, 2008 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on Manhattan's West Side.

Larkin--best known for his cover paintings on such comics and books as Doc Savage, Hulk! magazine, Dazzler #1, The Savage Sword of Conan the Barbarian, Tomb of Dracula magazine, the Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Trek: The Motion Picture comics adaptations, and Babylon 5 novels--will be on hand for all three days of the show, not only to meet his fans but to promote the upcoming release of The Savage Art of Bob Larkin, Vol. 1, a full-color retrospective to be published by SQP Productions.

In addition to making signing appearances at the SQP booth (#2347), Larkin will be selling art pieces at his table, including prints of some of his most recent Doc Savage work in recognition of Doc's 75th Anniversary this year.

Fans interested in meeting the man behind some of comics' most iconic cover images are encouraged to stop by and say hi at Table G21-22 in Artists Alley.
