…Robot Comics!
Michael San Giacomo’s PHANTOM JACK has traveled down one of the most turbulent publishing roads in recent comics history, but now this fan-favorite underdog get it’s due as Atomic Pop Art and Robot Comics team-up to bring this definitive edition of the series to the iPhone and Android!
History
Giacomo’s book started as one of the select few snatched up for publication under the infinitesimally-lived Marvel EPIC imprint of the early 2000’s. The first 5-issue mini was later published in full under the Image banner, and then eventually collected as a trade paperback by Speakeasy. Atomic Pop Art recently released PHANTOM JACK: THE ABSOLUTE EDITION, including the original 5-issue mini plus nearly 100 pages of brand new material, including two brand new stories. It is this ultimate edition of ATA’s that Robot Comics will be adapting into 7 device-specific issues for mobiles.
Synopsis
Jack Baxter is a New York reporter, an ordinary guy in an ordinary world. He lives in a place where people don’t fly overhead, or swing through the air on webbing. Now imagine what a trained reporter could do with those skills in this world? Jack is not a superhero, but neither is he a coward. ABSOLUTE PHANTOM JACK collects the first five issues of the series, along with nearly 100 pages of new material, including two brand-new stories. In the first arc, Jack travels to Iraq to rescue his brother who is being held captive. And a slightly super-powered reporter in the Gulf = Pure Dynamite! In the new material, Jack learns surprising new ways to manipulate his powers.
Phantom Jack is written by Michael San Giacomo with art by Mitch Breitwester (Drax the Destroyer, Captain America: The Chosen) with additional art by Sean McArdle and Brett Barkley.
