The city of Philadelphia is infamous for its rousing sport fans, cheesesteaks, and brotherly love. Brick, Quik, and Firestarter make up the members of the team The Trio, the go-to ensemble that always seem to find themselves over their heads when they take on vampires, city thugs, the police, and bickering with each other as Arcana Studios announces the debut of PHILLY!
“They have the looks, they have the powers, but they quite don’t have the concept of actually being a superhero team,” says series creator Ryan McLelland, writer/columnist for Newsarama (the most reputable and popular publication of any kind covering the comic book industry) and his creator owned comic Wise Intelligence. “I wanted to do a book about a superhero team who fight the evils of the world but their personalities usually get in the way of their goals. So one member might show up for a fight with an evil villain while one is drinking at a bar and the other used his powers to run to Japan to buy a new videogame. This being Philadelphia the team also has to deal with the community who loves them when they do right and hate them whenever they mess up.”

Joining McLelland is rising star Jim Hanna whose brilliant artwork helps bring the world of PHILLY to life. “Jim has an incredible ability to draw superheroes and it shows the second you look at his artwork. He loves drawing PHILLY and it truly shows in every single page in the book.”
With its colorful characters and huge action it’s easy to see why PHILLY is the most anticipated release of 2007. PHILLY #1 ordering information is available through Diamond’s February Previews (FEB073153) with a cover price of $3.95.
