Before producing the critical success that is the comic book adaptation of George R. R. Martin's THE HEDGE KNIGHT, the Dabel Brothers were known for another fantasy title: an original story titled LEGACY.

The story, created by Les and Ernst Dabel, took place in the world of Zelandria, a patchwork fantasy setting that drew its artistic style from eastern and western influences, capturing the look of a FINAL FANTASY game with the epic story of a STAR WARS film. In the first issue, readers were introduced to Lucian, a teenaged boy with a magical sword and a treacherous past. In the backdrop, his cruel adoptive father, Lord Eridan, was working to conquer the world and retrieve three shards of an ancient magical scepter that would help to secure his power once and for all.
But the real joy of the story was the fourth issue, where an unexpected plot twist ended the initial story arc in a swift and controversial manner, setting the stage for the dark rule of Eridan to overtake the world of Zelandria.

"LEGACY was our first real title at DB Pro, and we learned a lot from it," said Sean J. Jordan, who served as the book's director and editor. "To the day, it still has legions of fans clamoring for the next chapter. We're working on that, of course, but in the meantime, we thought we'd re-release the book in pocket manga format so those who missed one or more issues can enjoy the entire story."
LEGACY features art by Edu Francisco (of Lynx Studios) and writing by Carmen Treffiletti and Sean J. Jordan. The new edition will be published in full color by ALIAS Comics as part of its April, 2004 launch and will be available at comic book retailers and bookstores everywhere. The book will be distributed through Diamond Distributors, Order Code FEB052493.
