Boom! Studios provided BF with interior previews of the debut of Pale Horse, coming this June 2010.
Boom! Studios redefines the western genre with the debut of their new mini-series Pale Horse, written by 28 Days Later scribe Michael Alan Nelson, hitting stores this June.
Covers are by Hellblazer artist Leonardo Manco and Robert Adler, with interior art by artist Christian Dibari (Robin, Deadpool).
To commemorate this announcement, Boom! Studios has released a full seven page preview of Pale Horse #1 here:
Pale Horse tells the tale of ex-slave and former Union soldier Cole, who has spent the years following the Civil War building a reputation as the most fearsome bounty hunter in the land. But when the tables turn and a bounty is placed on Cole’s head, all hell breaks loose. Finding himself unable to protect the thing most precious to him — his family — Cole goes on a rampage of revenge, leaving only a trail of blood in his wake. With nothing but his horse, his one surviving son and his gun, Cole’s rampage leaves no stone unturned and no culprit alive.
"This is not you grandaddy's western!" says Boom! Studios Managing Editor Matt Gagnon. "The team of Nelson, DiBari, Manco and Adler bring comic fans a whole new look for the western and take the readers on an intense ride. The action is non-stop and the grit of world is palpable. Saddle up for a new vision of the old west!"
Pale Horse #1 is written by Michael Alan Nelson with interior art by Christian Dibari and covers by Leonardo Manco and Robert Adler. The four issue mini-series carried a Diamond Code of APR100829 and debuts this June.
