Just in time for Halloween, Guild Works Productions (GWP), a publishing venture with members of the Comicbook Artists Guild (CAG), proudly announces the publication of its first comicbook title, Psychosis! a 56-page, black and white, horror anthology where the main theme is an edgy, modern-day, relevant look at the fears of the 21st Century. Its contributors come from varied backgrounds and are a true mix of established talent alongside enthusiastic, younger talent intent on cutting their teeth with powerful themes.

The first installment of an on-going series, Psychosis! #1 features five eight-page stories, along with illustrations focusing on the fears and horrors of the modern age. GWP is intent on leading a new path for the comics industry with print-on-demand, e-commerce, and genre publishing. No longer content with following established business models, GWP is reaching out to new sources, new printing technologies, new areas of distribution, and new readership.

In an effort to establish a new publishing paradigm, GWP is going direct to retailers and readers with on-line fulfillment, print-on-demand and Internet-style guerrilla marketing. The comics are available through the GWP Web site, www.midtowncomics.com, and dimestoreproductions.com. GWP’s titles are also being sold through local area comic shops, and are available from GWP for direct solicitation. With an expanding national network of creators behind CAG and GWP as a means to publish them, they are ready to face the challenges of a changing marketplace.

Psychosis! #1 sports four alternate covers spotlighting the different stories contained within. Psychosis! is a mature readers title, and is appropriately labeled on each cover. GWP is kicking off publication of the comic with an Indie Halloween Party on Saturday Oct. 28th from 6 to 11 P.M. at The Twins Pub, 421 9th Ave., NYC (between 33rd & 34th Sts.)
