Samurai Comics in conjunction with the Art Institute of Phoenix is pleased to announce a special appearance by creator Scott McCloud.
The writer/artist of Understanding Comics, Reinventing Comics, and most recently Making Comics, Scott is considered in many circles to be the preeminent scholar of comic books and sequential art in the world.
In recent years, Scott has given Visual Lectures on Comics and Technology at destinations as diverse as Harvard University, Electronic Arts, The Smithsonian, Microsoft, and Pixar.
Scott is in the middle of his Making Comics tour, a tour that has taken him across the country, and across the world. Making Comics is a continuation of a series of books designed at giving both aspiring and professional creators an insider’s view into the myriad elements that go into creating comic books.
Scott will be appearing at the Art Institute of Phoenix, 2233 W. Dunlap Avenue, on July 20th for a Visual Lecture on Comics and Technology from 4:30-6:30 pm.
In addition, Scott will be doing a special meet and greet event with fans at Samurai Comics, 5024 N. 7th St, on Thursday July 19th from 7-9 pm. "Scott McCloud is simply amazing!" said Samurai Comics owner Mike Banks "anyone interested in creating their own comics, or even interested in learning about comics as an art form should come meet Scott and attend the lecture".
