Following in the footsteps of its debut issue, Image Comics has announced that SEA OF RED #2 has sold out at Diamond. The issue was supported by a 25% overship to retailers as well as Image's standard overprint.
"I don't think anyone could have predicted the success we've had with SEA OF RED," says co-creator/scripter Rick Remender. "The reviews have been outstanding and it seems the sales reflect what the reviewers are saying."
SEA OF RED tells the story of Marco, a victim of vampire demon pirates who lusts for revenge. Top-notch art by Salgood Sam and a story by Remender and Kieron Dwyer (who also contributes breakdowns and cover art) has been capturing the hearts of fans and critics alike.
"With the great numbers on SEA OF RED, the team at Image have shown the industry that a marketplace full of dusty superheroes is in fact hungry to support new and unusual ideas," says Remender.
SEA OF RED has been getting rave reviews and is on the way to becoming one of Image Comics' hottest new releases of the summer. Image Comics is rushing a specially-priced collection of the first four issues out to hit stores the same day as SEA OF RED #5.
SEA OF RED #3 (MAR051703) and #4 (APR051688) are now available for preorders - your local retailer can contact their Diamond Customer Service Representative for ordering.
