The writer who has sensationalized Spider-Man and put the family back into the Fantastic Four has gotten some major ink this week as both the New York Times and Variety have run articles featuring Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
Besides being a prolific comic book writer, Aguirre-Sacasa is also an accomplished playwright whose latest work “Based On A Totally True Story” opened yesterday at the Manhattan Theater Club in New York City.
“Roberto is an incredibly talented writer and we’re lucky to have him here at Marvel!” says editor-in-chief Joe Quesada. “The stories he tells are the perfect blend of old-school action and new reader accessibility and really shows Roberto’s passion for storytelling and comics.”
The articles profiled both the work and life of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, including the little-known fact that his father is running for president of Nicaragua. And of course, Aguirre-Sacasa talked about his love for all things comics.
Be sure to pick up the issue of Marvel Spotlight featuring Aguirre-Sacasa along with superstar artist David Finch, on sale now, and don’t miss out on Aguirre’s Sensational Spider-Man and Four out monthly.
