The search for Capitan America is starting to heat up. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is set to screen test seven actors for the role of Steve Rodgers in the upcoming Captian America feature. The Office’s John Krasinski is among those listed as being in consideration, along with Scott Porter, Wilson Bethel, Michael Cassidy, Patrick Flueger (The 4400), Mike Vogel, and possibly Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl).

It is a possibility that this round of screen tests will not produce the new Steve Rodgers, but Marvel is rumored to only be looking at Americans to fill the role of Rodgers. Capitan America will be directed by Joe Johnson, and will focus on Cap’s humble beginnings as a lanky enlistment reject turned superhero, thanks to the government's secret super soldier serum. A firm release date has not been set for Captain America.
