This July 16, visit ToonZone.net’s Cartoons Dammit! (www.cartoonsdammit.com) to witness the launch of the comic industry’s best teen-horror web comic, Shadowgirls !

Described as "The Gilmore Girls meets H.P. Lovecraft," Shadowgirls features Charon, a poor single mother, and her daughter, Becka, who is cursed with demonic powers, math homework and a compulsion to stop ravenous monsters bent on taking over their small town.

"Shadowgirls is formatted as a standard print comic but is available for free on the web, where it will feature a new page of monster-bashing or first kisses – or sometimes both (eww?) – Mondays through Fridays. Fans who don’t want to wait the full month to read the complete story can immediately order the first full-color issue through the Shadowgirls website. Subsequent issues become available as soon as the first page of that issue is posted on the site.

"Shadowgirls is written by David A. Rodriguez, a video game designer and the creator/writer of Archaia Studio’s forthcoming modern-day witch/warrior comic, Starkweather: Immortal , the first issue of which is written by Piers Anthony.

Art is by Dave Reynolds, co-conspirator on Transformers KISS as well as editor of ToonZone.net’s Cartoons Dammit!

"Dave (Reynolds) shot me an e-mail with a two-sentence pitch/outline thingy, character designs and—bam!—Shadowgirls was born," co-creator Rodriguez said. "For both of us, this is a passion project."

If you enjoy Buffy, Alias and Smallville, splashed with some Supernatural, then do yourself a favor and try Shadowgirls at www.shadowgirlscomic.com.
