Kaare Andrews' story of an aged Peter Parker coming out of retirement has struck a chord with fans, leading the first issue of Spider-Man: Reign to sell out at Diamond. Marvel is rushing back to press with a new interior art variant cover by Andrews guaranteed to only increase the conversation swirling around this book.
“There has been a lot of talk that this mini-series is to be the Dark Knight Returns moment for the Spider-Man franchise. One issue into it and I’d say we’re well on our way to just such an occurrence,” says Kevin Huxford of Newsarama.
A searing vision of Spider-Man’s future, Spider-Man: Reign cuts to the core of what makes Peter Parker a hero. In a future New York City where super heroes are banished and those closest to him are gone, will Peter Parker find the inner strength to be a hero once again or will he succumb to the despair that has ravaged the Big Apple?
Do not miss Spider-Man: Reign #1 Second Printing Variant as this Kaare Andrews mini-series is quickly becoming an essential story for any fan of the Wall-Crawler.
Be advised, copies of Spider-Man: Reign #1 may still be available at the retail level.
