Variety reports that the next Spiderman movie will be in 3-D and will swing into theaters July 3rd, 2012.
Music video and romantic comedy director Marc Webb will helm the Colombia Pictures release, and the screenplay will be written by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Darkness Falls). The film will begin shooting later this year.
The as of yet untitled film will purportedly focus on the high school years of Peter Parker and his web-slinging alter ego. High School Musical star Zac Efron is rumored to be in the running for the role of Peter Parker.
