Markosia Enterprises has announced that the first issue of Starship Troopers: Blaze of Glory has completely sold out of its initial printing.
With a strong demand still, for the first issue, Markosia has gone back to print with a “Director’s Cut” which will feature exclusive art, a gallery of pin-ups as well as a first look at the brand new ‘Troopers mini series ‘Dead Man’s Hand’ - which is due to ship in July 2006 from the Anglo-American company.
The Director’s Cut features a sketch cover by Mike Bowden (the series artist on Dead Man’s Hand) and is priced at $3.50 and will ship to retail stores in April 2006 a week after issue two is due into US stores.
Richard Emms, Markosia’s EIC, comments on the success of the series and the release of the Director’s Cut edition.
“Starship Troopers has been, without doubt, a massive success for the company. We have now completely sold out of the first issue and we’re not talking small numbers here. The book should reach DCD‘s top 200 with ease and that is great for any fledgling company”.
“We had one store report they sold out of 120 copies in the first week of the book shipping and that news is both welcoming and incredible”.
“The director’s cut will feature the full twenty-four page story, pin-ups of all of the variant covers that were produced for the first issue and to top it all off, the first pencilled pages from ‘Dead Man’s Hand’ with art by Mike Bowden. In fact the Director’s Cut is Starship Troopers from cover to cover”.
Markosia will be exhibiting at the Memorabilia show at the Birmingham NEC in the UK on the 24th - 26th March. Small amount of file Copies (25 of each cover) of the first printing will be available at the show as well as the NYC Comicon edition.
