Fangoria Magazine has nominated him as of "13 rising talents who promise to keep us terrified for the next 25 years." Steve Niles is a writer of comics, novels and screenplays, and he is set to appear on Fanboy TV, Thursday, June 28, 2007, at 7 p.m. CDT.

Niles' most recent work is on the screenplay for 30 Days of Night, out of Columbia. Not only is he the screenwriter, but also the creator and writer of the comic that inspired the movie. When the comic 30 Days of Night was released in 2002 it sparked a renewed interest in the horror genre and quickly won a place in comic history. 30 Days of Night is being produced by Spiderman's Sam Raimi, and directed by David Slade. The film is due out this November.

Niles started his career when he opened his own publishing company, Arcane Comix. The company published, edited and adapted comics and Anthologies for Eclipse Comics and included adaptations of Clive Barker, Harlan Ellison and Richard Matheson's I Am Legend  (which will be released as a movie in late 2007).

Niles' production company - Raw Entertainment - which he co-owns with actor Thomas Jane (The Punisher), has produced The Tripper with David Arquett.

Niles has also sold the rights to Bigfoot , which he co-created with Rob Zombie. He has also worked don comics for almost every major comic publisher including DC, Marvel, Image, IDW, and Dark Horse.
