Stan Lee’s Sunday Comics ™ has announced the addition of three new exclusive comics to it’s online comics subscription service; Knight & Gale, Yenny’s Diary, and Man!. These creator-owned comics are making their worldwide debut at Stan Lee’s Sunday Comics ™, part of www.komikwerks.com (AOL Keyword: Komikwerks), having never been published before, either online or in print.
Knight & Gale is the newest online comic by Femme Noir and Gravedigger writer/creator, Christopher Mills. Chris teams with veteran comic and animation artist Rick Hoberg, whose resume includes work on comics like Superman, Justice League, and Star Wars. Rounding out the creative team is Matt Webb, colorist extraordinaire who has added his artistic touch to Hawkman, X-Men, and Spider-Man. Knight & Gale tells the story of Britain's top secret agent, who resigns from the service to marry the girl of his dreams - only to discover that marriage is the most dangerous mission of all!
Yenny’s Diary, by David Alvarez & Richard Cruz, is a humor strip in the spirit of Frank Cho’s Liberty Meadows. The young and beautiful Yenny dreams of being a runway model, but her big, huge feet keep her off the catwalk and away from realizing her dreams. Creator David Alvarez is a comic and animation vet, with credits like DC’s Looney Tunes comic, and storyboards for Krypto the Superdog. Yenny’s Diary is an offshoot of Alvarez’s popular daily strip “Yenny”, and will tell all new stories featuring the same cast of characters.
Man! An Adventure in the Absurd, by talented newcomer Michael Penick, is a self-conscious super-hero spoof in the vein of Keith Giffen’s Ambush Bug, with a dash of Ace Ventura, Groo the Wanderer and Calvin & Hobbes thrown in the mix. The story follows the adventures (if you can call them that!) of our world’s newest super-hero, the caped do-gooder know as “Man!”.
“We’re pumped to add Knight & Gale, Yenny’s Diary, and Man! to our Stan Lee’s Sunday Comic™ lineup,” says Komikwerks co-founder, Patrick Coyle. “We’ve now got a TON of content for our subscribers. First, of course, there are hundreds of pages worth of ibooks, inc.’s graphic novels on our site, like The Best of Ray Bradbury, Terminator: The Burning Earth, and Joe Kubert’s Yossel. Now, we’re adding brand new, never-before-published weekly comics by talented creative professionals – all that for just $1.95 per month? Heck, that’s a deal and a half!”
Look for all three of these new comics to being appearing on the Stan Lee’s Sunday Comics™ section of Komikwerks.com starting February 21st, 2005.
