Less than a week after reaching stores on August 3, SUPERMAN #220 (JUN050345) has sold out at DC Comics.  Written by Mark Verheiden and illustrated by Tony Daniel & Marlo Alquiza, the issue featured the return of the Eradicator and guest-starred Superboy.

“It’s been a blast to see the great reaction from fans to the current Superman run,” says Verheiden.  “As usual, kudos go to my co-conspirators on issue #220, including superb guest-penciller Tony Daniel.  (He draws a great Superman and one heck of an iceberg!)  And there’s plenty of excitement to come, including a flat-out nuts Bizarro adventure, Lois going toe-to-toe against one of the DCU’s deadliest foes, and a Superman/Supergirl adventure.”

“This quick sell-out is another sign of increasing sales momentum in the monthly Superman books,” says Bob Wayne, DC’s VP — Sales.  “We urge retailers to increase orders now on the coming issues to avoid getting caught short.”

Upcoming SUPERMAN issues are available as follows:

• SUPERMAN #221 (JUL050213) is available for advance reorder and is scheduled to arrive in stores on September 8.

• SUPERMAN #222 (AUG050195) is solicited in the August Previews (Volume XV #8) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 5.

DC Comics has no plan to go back to press on SUPERMAN #220 at this time.  Copies still may be available at retail.
