His return is upon us. With WB having released the first trailer of Superman Returns today, comic book fans have received further acknowledgement of something they knew they wouldn’t be able to escape: the return of Superman is upon us.
When Superman flies into theatres after a decades-long absence on June 30, all of fandom’s questions will be answered. Did Bryan Singer surpass his success on X-Men? Does Brandon Routh look good in the costume or better with big goggles as clumsy Clark Kent? And what about Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor? In all honesty, that’s not a legit question—Spacey will no doubt forever bury the memory of the goofy Gene Hackman version of Superman’s number one adversary. Thank God.
At this point, there’s nothing left to say, so enjoy the trailer!
