On November 3, retailers will receive a free 50% overship of the latest issue of VERTIGO’s hit series SWAMP THING. Overship quantities are based on initial orders only.
SWAMP THING #9 (SEP040394) features the debut of new writer Joshua Dysart (Violent Messiahs), who joins regular series artist Enrique Breccia with the 4-part story “Love in Vain.”
“Josh was made to write SWAMP THING,” says Karen Berger, VP — Executive Editor, VERTIGO. “He's totally in sync with the characters and spirit of the book, and deftly delivers the horror, intelligence, and personal themes that are the hallmarks of the series. I couldn't be happier with his direction, and I'm certain that readers will instantly respond to the excitement and passion of his clever and wonderfully strange stories.”
“Josh Dysart is off to a compelling start. Readers who have followed the new series so far won’t want to miss his debut,” says Bob Wayne, DC’s VP — Sales & Marketing. “Also, this issue makes a great jumping-on point for readers who enjoy SWAMP THING and other VERTIGO horror series, so we’re making sure that retailers will have plenty of copies for their shelves.”
Upcoming issues of the series are available as follows:
• SWAMP THING #10 (OCT040363) is solicited in the October issue of Previews (Volume XIV #10) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on December 1.
• SWAMP THING #11 (NOV040349) is solicited in the November issue of Previews (Volume XIV #11) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on January 5.
In addition, the first five issues of the new SWAMP THING are collected in the SWAMP THING: BAD SEED TP (OCT040365), solicited in the October issue of Previews (Volume XIV #10). This trade paperback is written by Andy Diggle with art by Breccia and is scheduled to arrive in stores on December 15.
