The award-nominated webcomic “Talismen” (www.talismenseries.com) has moved to the prestigious webcomic host site Keenspot.com.
“We’re thrilled about the move,” said “Talismen” co-creator Barb Jacobs. “Keenspot was one of the first comics host sites on the Internet, and it’s one of the most popular and exclusive. This move will bring ‘Talismen’ to a new and larger audience.”
“Talismen” is the epic adventure of five exiles from the Plane of Imaginings, the place where all dreams and nightmares come from. The series follows the exiles from childhood to adulthood as they use their magical talismen to battle the powerful Ba, ruler of the Land of Nightmares.
“People from all over the world are reading ‘Talismen,” said Jacobs. “It’s the kind of fantasy that people of all ages are enjoying.”
Earlier in 2006, “Talismen” was nominated for a Web Cartoonists’ Choice Award for “Outstanding Fantasy Comic.” Since “Talismen” launched in October 2005, it has attracted over 6.5 million readers worldwide and has ranked near the Top 10 of the TopWebComics ranking of webcomics. Two issues of a “Talismen” comic book series was published in 2005 by Atlantis Studios, and in January 2007 Mundania Press will release the first in a series of illustrated Young Adult novels, “Talismen: The Knightmare Knife.” An illustrated “Talismen” Young Adult novella, “Boy In the Well,” is also available now at Café Press (www.cafepress.com/taslismen).
“There is a lot going on with ‘Talismen’ these days, and moving to Keenspot gives our readers an easy one-stop-spot to come to read the series and keep up with the latest news about it,” said “Talismen’s” other co-creator Steven Philip Jones.
