Dynamite Entertainment (makers of such fine comic book product as Army of Darkness and Red Sonja) announced today that their latest creation - the "Dynamite" Monsters -- will be appearing in a cross-over with Top Cow's cast of dark characters.
The series will be written by Chris (Buffy/Angel) Golden and Tom (Buffy) Sniegoski, illustrated by Joyce (Superman Covers) Chin, and the first issue due in April - depicting Magdalena vs. Dracula will feature 4 covers shipping in equal increments: Joyce Chin, Marc Silvestri, Joseph Michael Linsner, and Eric Basaldua.
"Chris and Tom have written an awesome series! Between this and the fantastic artwork that Joyce is doing -- wait until you see the level of detail in each issue -- this is really shaping up to the THE series and THE company crossover of '05!" Proclaimed Dynamite Spokesperson J. Allen.
Jim McLauchlin was ecstatic to see the story and the pages. "It's genuinely fun to pit the Magdalena, Tomb Raider, Witchblade and the Darkness against these classic monsters. The whole series is quite the thrill-ride. And I'm very happy to have 4 covers for fans to choose from, featuring the diverse talents of Mr. Marc Silvestri, Eric Basaldua, Joseph Michael Linsner and of course interior artist Joyce Chin!"
Allen also discussed the creation of the "Dynamite" Monsters and mentioned that a limited ashcan will be available to select retailers and creators depicting their all-new incarnations. Dynamite has been developing their own versions of such classic creations as Dracula, Werewolf's, Mummy, Jekyll and Hyde and Frankenstein and others since early 2004.
The series is now available to order through your Diamond distributors in the Top Cow section of Previews.
Stay tuned for more details on this ashcan, the new series, and the incredible cover art!
