With the ever-increasing popularity of the hit show HEROES and the already-established popularity of Tim Sale’s work in comics, the demand for TIM SALE: BLACK AND WHITE, a pre-HEROES career retrospective featuring a comprehensive collection of artwork spanning Tim’s entire career, skyrocketed and quickly caused the book to sell out. The supplemental booklet, TIM SALE: PIN-UPS, is also close to selling out its limited print run so retailers and fans alike will want to get it while they can.
“Of course, the success of TIM SALE: BLACK AND WHITE is entirely due to Active Images's efforts---Tim can't possibly take any credit,” lied Richard Starkings, President & First Tiger of Comicraft and Active Images. “In TIM SALE: BLACK AND WHITE, it’s exciting to read Tim's recollections of such a colourful career, and now being able to see his work on a show like HEROES is a real treat. Even though BLACK AND WHITE is sold out, we’re hoping to republish it with additional material at Image Comics sometime in the near future.”
TIM SALE PIN-UPS ($20.00, 40 pages, 7”x11”, black and white, Diamond Code: NOV063205) features a selection of quality ink and wash drawings and pencil sketches with notes by Tim and a color cover by Tim and CATWOMAN colorist Dave Stewart. PIN-UPS is the perfect supplement to TIM SALE: BLACK AND WHITE or any other of Tim’s works.
If a copy can be found, TIM SALE: BLACK AND WHITE ($24.95, ISBN: 0974056766, Diamond Code: MAY042178, 160-page hardcover, 11.0” x 7.5”) covers Tim’s career beginning with his GREY ARCHER PRESS illustration work and moving through BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN, SUPERMAN FOR ALL SEASONS, DAREDEVIL: YELLOW and SPIDER-MAN: BLUE and finally to Marvel’s HULK: GRAY, with an introduction by Tim's friend, writer and collaborator, Jeph Loeb, one of the creative forces at work on Tim Kring's HEROES. Complemented by an extensive interview conducted by Richard Starkings, and lovingly designed by Comicraft's secret weapon, John "JG" Roshell, TIM SALE: BLACK AND WHITE contains over three hundred pen-and-ink, wash and pencil drawings and sketches.
