Top Cow Productions is flexing its muscle to help out a great cause in The Hero Initiative.

Top Cow is soliciting and distributing The Unusual Suspects, an all-original 96-page graphic novel written by Dan Wickline (30 Days of Night) in March. Proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit The Hero Initiative, the only charity dedicated specifically to helping comic creators in medical or financial need.

“When Hero Initiative President Jim McLauchlin asked if we would publish a book as cool as this for such a worthy cause I jumped at the chance,” said Top Cow President Matt Hawkins. “Sometimes it's important to do something for no other reason than just giving back to those who paved the road for all of us.”

The Unusual Suspects is the brainchild of writer Dan Wickline, who's written 16 short stories, illustrated by a bevy of great talent, including Nat Jones (Spawn), Ben Templesmith (Fell), Tone Rodriguez (Conan), Chris Moreno (Sidekick) and many more. Wickline, all the artists, and cover artists Mike Mayhew and Dean White, have done all their work for free as well, to help maximize benefit for The Hero Initiative.

“I got to write a bunch of fun and twisted stories while helping out a fantastic charity and working with amazing artists,” said writer Dan Wickline. “This is one of the great things about being in this industry."
