The Hero Initiative, the comic book charity that brought you 100 original Spider-Man covers on Ultimate Spider-Man #100, is putting the covers in a deluxe package.
Hero’s previously announced Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Project book will also be available in hardcover! This limited edition of ONLY 1000 copies will be available for $24.99 exclusively from The Hero Initiative at conventions, or via Dynamic Forces.com. Proceeds from sales of the 112-page book will continue to support Hero's effort of providing a financial safety net for yesterdays' creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. The hardcover is available for preorder at: http://dynamicforces.com/htmlfiles/p-C108713.html . Orders will ship the week of August 13.
In addition, Dynamic Forces will handle mail order for the softcover at:
http://dynamicforces.com/htmlfiles/p-C108712.html.
"The Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Project is such a fantastic book that we’re happy to work with The Hero Initiative to carry the hardcover and fulfill orders for the paperback! These were one-of-a-kind pieces, and Hero is a one-of-a-kind organization. Fans should reserve a copy of the softcover at their local retailer, or check out DynamicForces.com, where they can purchase the collected edition of the Ultimate Spidey covers!" said Nick Barrucci of Dynamic Forces.
More than 80 talented artists were tapped to do an original drawing on the blank cover of Ultimate Spider-Man #100 created specifically for The Hero Initiative. This stellar art book includes great Spidey art from Mark Bagley, J. Scott Campbell, Frank Cho, Neil Gaiman, Adam and Andy Kubert, George Pérez, Joe Quesada, John Romita Sr. and Jr. and more. It even includes an introduction from Spidey co-creator Stan Lee himself!
The Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Project book will make its debut at Wizard World Chicago Aug. 9-12, 2007. Ultimate Spider-Man #100 artists Joe Benitez, J. Scott Campbell, Michael Golden, Francis Manapul, Joe Quesada, Jim Starlin, Arthur Suydam, Jim Valentino and Matt Wagner will be at the convention. The Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Project book will be available in-stores Aug. 29.
The Hero Initiative is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit corporation dedicated strictly to helping comic book creators in need. Hero creates a financial safety net for yesterdays' creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. It's a chance for all of us to give back something to the people who have given us so much enjoyment. For more information, visit www.HeroInitiative.org or call 310-909-7809.
