In the recent Civil War tie-in “Vendetta” story arc running through Wolverine, the feral X-Man and Avenger had been in a plane crash, nearly decapitated, and had all of his flesh burned clear off. In Wolverine #48, the question of even Logan could have survived such injuries is answered.
