Brian Wood, whose gripping, contemporary storytelling and cutting-edge art style have graced the pages of Vertigo’s critically acclaimed series DMZ, has signed an exclusive contract with DC Comics.
"Not only does this give me some extra security after so many years working for the small presses,” Wood said. “It's also incredibly flattering to have DC showing this much faith and trust in my talents in such a public and committed way."
“We’re ecstatic to have a talent of Brian’s caliber joining Vertigo exclusively,” said Karen Berger, Senior VP — Executive Editor, Vertigo. “He’s one of the few talents to emerge from the recent indie scene whose unique and powerful voice meshes perfectly with our sensibility. His work on DMZ has been remarkable and we look forward to what the future holds for both Brian and Vertigo.”
The first five issues of DMZ are collected in the DMZ VOL. 1: ON THE GROUND TP (MAR060383), available for reorder.
Upcoming issues of DMZ are available as follows:
• DMZ #12 (AUG060286) is available for advance reorder and is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 11.
• DMZ #13 (SEP060309) is solicited in the September Previews (Volume XVI #9) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on November 8.
• DMZ #14 (OCT060287) is solicited in the October Previews (Volume XVI #10) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on December 16.
