Tired of all the grim superhero tales crossing over into fifteen books, making you feel a little more bleak for the reading?

Well, Shooting Star Comics lightens up the day with one of the brighter series out there with YANKEE DOODLE: THE LIVING SCRIBBLE. He'll have you bouncing off the walls with his high jinks.

Created by Scott Hileman and Chris Franklin, the Doodle originally debuted in SHOOTING STAR COMICS ANTHOLOGY #5 as a college student transformed by his insane professor into a living scribble with the power of a cosmic cinderblock. Now, Yankee Doodle leaps from the page into a new 12 part web-strip series. Hileman writes, Franklin draws and colors, while talented inkslinger Ethan Colchamiro embellishes and letters.

In the case of Yankee Doodle, it's a full helping of humor with a side of adventure, seasoned with a pinch of Jack Cole and a dash of Carl Barks influence. The series is about the crazy life of college student Brett O'Brady who is secretly the shape shifting protector of Phun City - The Yankee Doodle. Joined by his pal Sydney, the Doodle makes the world a nifty place to live in!

The series joins Shooting Star Comics Online Strip Club along with Scott McCullar's THRILL SEEKER COMICS series, now in its third syndicated week. Each free web-strip at the Shooting Star Comics Online Strip Club is meant to give readers a taste of what Shooting Star Comics has to offer in its books.

A new installment of the series is available every Saturday at www.shootingstarcomics.com or www.webcomicsnation.com/shootingstarcomics/yankeedoodle/series.php
