Moore, Oklahoma is best known for what happened there on May 3, 1999, but that is all about to change…

According to the city’s official website, on that sultry spring night, “Moore experienced the most violent tornado ever recorded.”  Luckily for those of us out here in comic book fan land, two men, Mario Wytch and Mykal Adams, were wholly unaffected by this sad event.  And in fact, a few years later they would join forces to form M2 Studio, an up and coming independent art house with a style all its own.

Mario Wytch, whose kinetic art is akin to Humberto Ramos,’ got into the business for “the money and the women.”  When pressed to find out where these two attractive commodities can be found in the world of independent art studios he was forced to cede, explaining that he does what he does simply because he loves it.

His partner in crime, Mykal Adams, a colorist with a keen eye for depth and shading, realized early in his career that the only reason he penciled and inked was so he could eventually color.  And his coloring speaks for itself.  Furthermore, when these two talented artists work together there is no denying the results.  Their comic book careers, though currently in the early stages, are taking off.

As of this writing, Mario’s career high points include creating a comic book based on his own life and having Ben Dunn of Antarctic Press give his art the always sought after “thumbs up” after having “trashed” it years earlier.  Mykal, on the other hand, is a man of few words and could only say the high point of his career was “the first time my work was published . . . .  It was the most incredible feeling to see something I contributed to in print.”

Of course, there are a few other notable highlights.  Mykal has colored several covers for Arcana Studios and the Angel Quest posters that appeared in HBO’s Entourage (season 2, episode 17 in case you were wondering).  Though both of these artists have accomplished quite a bit in the relatively short life of M2 Studio, neither man is done.  Currently, they are working on two comic related projects, Sasquatch, for Viper, and Armor EV for Unknown Comics.  But both want more.

Mario would like to eventually work with a laundry list of comic book superstars, including Christopher Priest, Sandra Hope, Chuck Dixon, Brian Michael Bendis, Mark Waid, Gail Simone, Mike Miller, Chuck Austin, Ed Brubaker, Terry Moore, Frank Miller, Mark Millar, Jeff Johns and Joe Quesada, among others.  With his flash and talent, the possibility is there.  Additionally, Mykal would one day like to color for Mark Bagley who he feels is the “best  Spider-Man artist ever.”
