History proves to be Captain America’s greatest enemy.
History has been an essential element of James Asmus & Ed Brubaker’s Captain America & Bucky. In this arc centered on the second generation of the Captain and his trusty sidekick, however, history has an entirely different meaning; instead of the past being looked upon with satisfaction and accomplishment, history returns to exact revenge on America’s greatest duo.
Asmus and Burbaker's combination of superheroics and haunting history makes for a fantastic story. Though Captain America steals the spotlight defending downtown New York from an imposter dressed as his former sidekick, the true hero is the aged second Bucky, Fred Davis. Davis, on the verge of discovering the true danger that surrounds Cap and the unraveling mystery of issue #625’s attack, finds himself in peril as enemies close in around all those connected to Captain America’s past and present.
Captain America & Bucky #626 is another great issue of the best Captain America title on the stands. Try as he might, yesterday’s Bucky, Fred Davis, is unable to turn the tide against the past returning to hunt down Captain America. Issue #626 is easily one of the most interesting and fresh issues of the series, as Asmus and Brubaker continue to push Captain America & Bucky to new limits.

This is a fantastic series; one of the best Marvel is publishing.
Would love to have seen what Asmus and Francavilla could have accomplished with an arc or two on this book. Alas it wasn't meant to be.
