We are all very aware of what harrowing times we are living in and of the challenges now facing marginalised communities. At the beginning of the year we spoke about the importance of DEI and what we were offering at BF to address our concerns in a post on the site here. It’s always important to us at BF then to do whatever we can to promote socially conscious initiatives that both make a statement and provide support where needed. And for the last few years one of the finest examples of that have been the micro-bursaries application process for Thought Bubble.
This year Thought Bubble and Travelling Man are teaming up to provide those bursaries to nine creators in the following categories: Disabled Comic Creators, Comic Creators of Colour, and Trans/Non-Binary Comic Creators. They are open to UK-based early career comic creators with a deadline of 5pm BST July 2nd, 2025.
Successful applicants will receive £400 plus a table at the Thought Bubble Comic Convention 2025.
