While Broken Frontier actively support and promotes queer comics work all year round we also like to do something special for Pride Month in June too. Over the last few years at BF we have run a dedicated Pride Month of coverage where we have managed to get a review, interview, feature or creator commentary up every single weekday to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ comics community. Here’s just the last couple of years for you to get the idea – Pride Month 2024 at Broken Frontier and Pride Month 2025 at Broken Frontier.

On reflection, last year’s coverage was probably too focussed on narrative and genre fiction. So this year we would like to put the main spotlight on stories about queer lived experience. If that’s the area you’re working in – whether it’s graphic memoir or graphic biography – we’d love to offer you a short, eix-question e-mail interview to bring your practice to our audience. Get in touch with Andy (me!) at the e-mail address here.
Each year we also offer the opportunity for LGBTQIA+ comics creators to contribute one of our Inside Look creator commentaries so that we include a variety of voices from outside of the Broken Frontier team. In 2025 we ran some excellent Pride Month-related Inside Looks, including Lonnie Mann on Gaytheist: Coming Out of My Orthodox Childhood , Eve and Spire Greenwood on Ruin of the House of the Divine Visage, and A. Mauri on How to Love Yourself.
You can read more about what we look for in these creator commentary pieces on our creator opportunities page here. E-mail us at the address above if it appeals and we can chat more.

As ever, we are also very keen to hear from grassroots voices who want to submit their queer-themed minicomics for review.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Andy
