PRIDE MONTH 2026! At the start of June each year at BF I always feel the need to issue the simple reminder that LGBTQIA coverage is an all-year round reality on the site. We’re certainly not about rainbow-washing at Broken Frontier. However, Pride Month gives us the opportunity to dedicate much of the site’s output for four whole weeks to a celebration of our queer comics scene. And, as attacks on DEI and (in particular) the continued stripping of rights from the trans community continue unabated, this feels all the more important with every passing year.

So what can you expect from our coverage in 2026 for Pride Month? All things being good there will be something up every posting day tagged with the words Pride Month 2026 on the front page. Comics-wise we will have reviews of everything from relevant graphic memoir to genre fiction. This year we have sent out (and are still sending out!) batch after batch of interview questions to LGBTQIA+ creators, giving artists and publishers a chance to chat about their queer comics practice. And, as ever for Pride at BF, we will venture into areas that are not in our usual coverage remit, including children’s picture books and maybe even a super-hero comic or two.
Don’t forget that our Broken Frontier Resource Lists have a section for LGBTQIA+ comics and a focussed one for trans and non-binary ones. It’s really important for us to say once again that we are here to bring your stories to a wider audience, to commemorate and observe lived experiences, to elevate marginalised voices, and to stand in solidarity with the community.
Pride is though, first and foremost, a celebration. So, let the party begin…
