Congratulations are in order to 2025 Broken Frontier ‘Six to Watch‘ creator Beatrijs Brouwer/Beastly Worlds whose delightful fantasy comics Fox Flight Market Night and Shimmer Paths have been picked up for publication by, respectively, Ediciones La Cúpula in Spain and Fantagraphics in the US.

Beatrijs’ work has become a coverage staple here since our Lydia Turner reviewed Fox Flight Market Night here on the site in 2024. That, in turn, brought her work to my attention and led to her selection for our 2025 ‘Six to Watch’ intake. You can read my review of Shimmer Paths here and look out for coverage of her new comic Tree Dwellers as part of our Thought Bubble Month.

You can also read a 2024 interview with Beatrijs talking to Lydia here and a 2025 one with me here. And you can visit her site and online store here. Much deserved recognition for an amazing emerging talent! (And once again, need we say it… we did tell you!)
