One final Comics Cultural Impact Collective online roundtable meeting for the moment with a Scottish Comics Roundtable coming in September. There’s an incredible evolving small press and indie scene in Scotland so this feels very apt. Full details are below courtesy of CCIC, who have been doing incredible work over the last three years working to boost the form, support those who work in it and improve its infrastructure.

We’re delighted to announce the final – final, final – roundtable discussion following the UK Comics Creators Research Report, specifically for everyone working in and with comics in Scotland.
While 8% of the UK population is Scottish, 15% of its comics creators are. What makes Scotland such a hotbed for comics? And how can we ensure this hardy scene thrives far into the future?
Run in collaboration with our friends at Small Press Scotland and with additional support from CHIP Collective, this event will take a more action-oriented approach: providing a space to sound out potential projects and activities that benefit creators, boost audience access, and develop infrastructure. An opportunity to brainstorm with like-minded people; to throw any ideas into the pot and see what bubbles up.

Nearly 300 attendees across our three online roundtable events filled a total of 50 individual breakout sessions, sharing an avalanche of thoughts and ideas with gusto.
