PRIDE MONTH 2026! As we wind up Pride Month 2026 at Broken Frontier just a little reminder that you can read all our coverage for this annual BF event in one tagged place here on the site.
Of course queer comics coverage is an all-year round thing in these parts but Pride does always give us an opportunity to push the boat out and really centre LGBTQIA+ stories every June. My aim this year was to emphasise non-fiction in the form of graphic memoir and biography over genre narrative. I’m not sure we achieved that but, by running so many interviews for Pride, we did get to hear directly from many queer voices themselves which was important. Thanks again to all our interviewees.

This year we also covered more in the way of children’s storybooks with LGBT themes. At a point when both public and school libraries in the UK are facing censorship and book withdrawals this seemed something we just had to do this time. Many children’s books use the narrative tools of comics now so this did not seem too far out of our normal remit.
As mentioned a few times in June we wanted to commit to covering the Q, the I and A in LGBTQIA this year and we did manage to do just that. This was, sadly, the first time ever that we didn’t get a Pride Month article up every single posting day for this event though (we missed one day last week!). Apologies for that and I hope everyone understands that sometimes there’s only so much we can do.
And, finally, don’t forget our dedicated comics resource lists including the general LGBTQIA+ one and a focussed trans and non-binary list can also be accessed here.
Happy Pride 2026 everyone!
