Last week at Broken Frontier we posted about the results of the UK Comics Creators Research Report for 2025 which made for fascinating reading. The next step, of course, is to begin wider discussion of the issues raised and the Comics Cultural Impact Collective will be facilitating just that with a series of online roundtables beginning this month. The first one is set to take part on Tuesday, May 26th. Full details, courtesy of CCIC, including how to book your spot are included in the press release below. This is a great opportunity to become part of a very important conversation so do consider taking part.
THIS MESS WON’T FIX ITSELF: COMICS CREATORS
Tuesday 26th May, 7.00pm
Following the publication of the UK Comics Creators Research Report, we’re excited to announce the first of three online roundtables for anyone working in or with comics to discuss what the findings mean for creators, livelihoods, and the industry, and how the recommendations in the report can actually be implemented.
The first event ‘This Mess Won’t Fix Itself: COMICS CREATORS’ is now live, and will focus specifically on the needs of the creators themselves: on wellbeing, on training, on confidence and community-building, and on inclusion.
This will be a space to get together with comics friends and peers and talk about what is worth preserving in our ecosystem, what efforts need redoubling, what flawed elements need to be fixed, and what is missing entirely. A much-needed opportunity to celebrate what works and analyse what doesn’t, so that we can shape those necessary improvements together.
