The newest member of Oni’s all-star Archie Comics braintrust, Winters is the writer of multiple New York Times bestselling novels, including the acclaimed Last Policeman trilogy (2012-14), Underground Airlines (2016), and Big Time (2024), among many others. In 2019, Winters joined the writing staff of FX’s acclaimed Marvel television series Legion and subsequently created and showran CBS’ #1 hit television series Tracker. In 2024, Winters made his comic book debut on Oni’s revitalized line of EC Comics as a central writer for CRUEL UNIVERSE, which debuted to blockbuster sales and subsequently earned an Eisner Award nomination. Winters’ first full-length comics project, BENJAMIN (with artist Leomacs) was subsequently published to widespread acclaim in 2025. In addition to his work on the ARCHIE ongoing series, Winters is also currently working on his next creator-owned comics project for Oni Press, which will be published in 2027.

Timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of Archie’s first appearance in PEP COMICS #22 in 1941, the new partnership between Oni Press and Archie Comics will soon be followed by a new line of compact comic collections and deluxe graphic novels to be published by Oni this coming fall, in addition to Archie Comics’ publishing and licensing collaborations, as well as a new live-action feature film written by Eisner Award winner Tom King and produced by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller for Universal Pictures in the years ahead.
