This is a very cool comics community project via Young Comics Laureate Ray and Comics Youth CIC. Ray is, of course, one of our 2021 Broken Frontier ‘Six to Watch’ creators and the creator of the critically acclaimed graphic novel Giant (as ever we told you well in advance!), Scribble through the Struggle is a campaign with a wellbeing focus that will, no doubt, resonate with many in comics. Get involved, comics people! Full details in the press release below.

Young Comics Laureate Mollie Ray (Ray) is inviting comic artists to share a moment when they could have given up on their creative dream, but didn’t — and what helped them keep going.
Brief
Either in the form of a video or written quote (or a short comic, if you’re feeling adventurous!) share with us your moment. Videos must be portrait, not exceed 3 minutes and quotes must be a maximum of 100 words.
Every post will include a gentle prompt inviting young people to respond, through a word, a doodle, or a reflection.
If you would like to take part, please email the following to: hello@mollieray.co.uk
- Video or quote
- A picture or drawing of you
- Prompt (optional)
You will then receive your quote/video in the campaigns visual template, and a practical prompt for your audience (If you would like to come up with your own, feel free!)
For inspiration see attached example quote/video from Ray at the Dropbox link here.
Posts must include:
- Your quote/video
- Practical prompt
- Hasthtags #scribblethroughthestruggle and #youngcomicslaureate
- Tags @itsrayning_ and @comicsyouth
- Explanation (we will send suggested copy, but feel free to write this in your own words!)
Please send everything by Wed 15th April 2026 to allow us time to return your visuals in the campaign template. You will then be notified when the campaign is taking place and when to share your posts!
Thank you for considering to take part, we look forward to hearing your stories! 🙂
