Under The Flesh features an unknown virus which only infects males- degenerating them into savage cannibals by hyper-stimulating primal impulses of the brain while debilitating all other cerebral functions- and a genetically enhanced soldier with a short temper who doesn’t know the extent of his powers. A man ready to help survivors with his unexplored transhuman abilities in a post-apocalyptic world where women drastically outnumber men. The obsession to test his limits not only jeopardizes his life, but risks the lives of those he’s entrusted to keep safe.
Roughly two months since Desolation Day (when the outbreak begun), our story follows the protagonist as he tries protecting his insanely jealous girlfriend and a group of ragtag survivors (a diverse colorful cast of females including another male) as they take refuge in a college library.
Under The Flesh is a gritty blast of sex, violence, horror and sci-fi, with a sprinkling of sub themes ranging from religion, evolution, and transhumanism. It’s not a tale about the end of the world. It’s about the suffering before its imminent revival. The story also explores mankind’s reckless hate. Greed. Insane perversity. Violent blood-lust that eviscerates virtue and kills our humanity. The evil nuances of human nature embedded under the flesh, which wraps our blood and bones like a body bag. More importantly, the comic engages humanity’s grit. The relentless tenacity to never give up. To hope, when all evidence of it has been extinguished in a ravaged world.
This looks interesting… no link?
That’s some terrific art.
