The big news over the weekend was the return of the Gosh! Comics and Broken Frontier Drink and Draw in person. Yes, after five years in the wilderness, thanks to the pandemic years and our search for a new host for the event, we will be returning to “real world” meet-ups at the end of June. Check out our announcement here for more details. The Drink and Draw Online though is going nowhere and we will continue to run that every two weeks (tying into the in-person one where appropriate). We’re back again this week on Bluesky on June 5th and we’re inviting you to join in the fun today with a little reminder of some recent art from our D&Ds.
So how does it work?
Where and when? On Bluesky via the Broken Frontier account on Thursday, June 5th. Introductions at 7.15pm BST with the drawing rounds starting at 7.30pm.
What is the format? We have a drawing theme for three sessions across the evening. We’ll post each of these prompts on Bluesky from the Broken Frontier account with the hashtag #GoshBFDD . The first at 7.30pm, the second at 8.15pm and the final round at 9.00pm.
You have 30 minutes to draw something fitting that theme, after which we’ll spend 15 minutes picking a winner before the next round begins. Don’t forget to post your drawings with the #GoshBFDD hashtag so everyone can see and join in. And also so we can easily repost!
Can anyone join in? Yes – whatever you feel your level of drawing skills are at we want everyone to feel welcome. Comics community is cool!
To give you an idea of the kind of themes and interpretations that come out of #GoshBFDD here’s a little gallery of recent art.
